We are looking for highly skilled, dynamic, autonomous, problem solving healthcare professionals who can successfully integrate and apply their healthcare knowledge into a variety of unique settings including the manufacturing floor.

The primary responsibilities of this role as an Injury Prevention Specialist will be to reduce workplace injuries by working proactively with a team of safety-oriented professionals. This rewarding position will include a variety of skills and the ability to continue learning.

Key duties will include implementing first-aid treatment plans and risk mitigation strategies. Strategies will include proactive ergonomic applications, biomechanical assessments, early intervention programs, assessment of each job function as it relates to ergonomic and physical demands of the tasks as well as the ability to participate in post-offer testing and/or return to work programming.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, responsible, and professional.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an approved Athletic Training program, Physical Therapy program or Occupational Therapy Program
  • Licensed/Certified AT, PT, or OT
  • 1 year experience in safety, ergonomics, or the industrial setting is preferred, but if you're willing to learn, we're willing to train you.
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • Lifelong learning mentality- ability to achieve ergonomic and safety certifications within one year of hire date.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Must be comfortable with technology and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Workplace platforms and other computer applications
  • Must be a stickler for details and have a strong desire to provide excellent work.
  • Must have a can-do attitude and be comfortable with adapting and adjusting to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective coaching and teaching skills as it relates to injury and illness prevention programming
  • Express own ideas and feelings clearly as well as demonstrate a willingness and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Effectively listen/observe patients/employees for the purposes of eliciting information; accurately describing changes in facial expression, mood, activity, and posture and perceiving nonverbal communication

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Possess the emotional stability to function effectively under stress as well as adapt and/or accommodate to an environment that may change rapidly without warning and/or in unpredictable ways
  • Maintain and assume a variety of positions including, frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward and overhead, turning, and movement of the trunk and neck in all directions
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Perform manual material handling and manipulation of various sizes and weights including, lift, carry, push, pull, grip and grasp when transferring patients, equipment or materials while on level/uneven surfaces/ramps/stairs
  • Safely lift up to 50 pounds independently
  • Safely lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Safely push and pull up to 100 pounds
  • Minimal to daily travel time may be required
  • May be assigned to more than one facility
  • This is a safety-sensitive position

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
